After a shaky but successful S-IVB burn Apollo 10 was on the way to the Moon. Now the first order of business was for John Young to move to the command module pilot seat.

  1. I was lucky enough to see the Apollo TLI burn over the east coast of Australia. It was quite a sight. I didn’t realize that the exhaust plume would be shaped like a bell. It appeared much larger than I expected.
